In the late 19-th - early 20-th centuries, the Oduls (the Forest Yukagirs from Upper Kolyma) knew several methods of burying dead bodies. The most ancient ones have analogies with the Finno-Ugric peoples of Western Siberia: dead body is put on land (in light cabins), on wood. They borrowed from Tungusic peoples the air burials on pillars. The subsoil burials apppeared together with the adoption of Christianity.
